Accounting Manager Job Description

Restoration Builders and our Member Company Built Strong Exteriors is looking for an accounting manager to supervise, track and evaluate day-to-day activities. Accounting manager responsibilities include establishing financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting information.

Responsibilities

Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including:

• Enter all vendor invoices into GL
• Enter all customer billings into GL
• Maintain all customer and supplier information as current
• Provide all payroll information per pay period to outside payroll service
• Ensure proper payroll reporting into GL per job
• Maintain all employee files
• Close the books monthly under accrual basis accounting
• Perform monthly bank and GL account reconciliations
• Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
• Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
• Meet financial accounting objectives
• Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions
• Review all vendors on a monthly basis to determine 1099 status, and request W9s as needed
• Generate 1099s for all vendors at year end
• Deposit accounts receivables via check scanner and online merchant service portal
• Process New Hires – Employees and Subcontractors
• Submit Direct Deposit transactions online weekly for subcontractors

Requirements

• Proven working experience as Accounting Manager
• Advanced computer skills on MS Office, Quickbooks and databases
• SAGE100 Contractor knowledge a plus
• Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
• Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to direct and supervise
• Construction company experience preferred but not mandatory
